I am way behind on pictures, but these have been waiting to be posted for several weeks now! I'll explain in a later post, but I did a visa run to El Salvador and ended up being there longer than I had planned. I have so many more pictures to come and I will try to get them up over the next week or two...
Here are some random ones to start :):)
Second session VAP Kinder group with volunteers: Emma (Scotland), Liz (Oregon, US), and Emily (England).
Making fortune tellers!
This team has been working so hard to build an addition onto our house (an apartment for my director who lives in the states). When I was giving them a hard time for taking a break, one of the construction workers told me that, "A man's work is hard." When we started our big construction projects, they saw me walking around with the tools and I told him that, "A woman's work is hard." He didn't try to argue ;)
Sunset photo shoot in front of our house <3
I made a trip to Tela to visit my old kids and some friends. Here are 2 of the newest additions to my landlord's family!
This family is very special to me <3
For a couple of months, I spent my mornings teaching the kids and working with the family at their house.
Too cute for words.
:):)
Playing with my phone, just like my nephews do at home!!
They like to ride on the bike, but with me pushing them because they can't quite reach the pedals!
I will miss them so much!!
As one of our Friday activities, we set up a Carnival for the kids (Carnaval en Español).
Making friendship bracelets with my buddy--I know we aren't supposed to have favorites...!
I taught the other volunteers how to make bracelets, anklets, and necklaces out of bandanas and the kids loved it!
It's super easy and we made them with all different colors. Some of us are still wearing them!
There was also a face painting station :)
It was so cute to see all of the kids running around with their decorated faces!
They traced designs and created their own too.
El corazón
Una mariposa
Gorgeous :)
Bobbing for... plastic eggs?
A great way to use my underwater camera :)
He got it!!
Jim ran the ball toss station.
The kids tried to throw the football through the hula hoop while Jim moved it up and down with a rope.
Ready, aim, fire!
Perfect throw!
Liz ran a "Cake Walk," but with candy!
Two of our volunteers (Denise and Sean) are forming a correspondence between our kids and some children from Seattle. They brought down a video of the kids in Seattle and then shot footage of our children responding to their questions.
What a cool idea, and they let the kids help out too!!
Ring toss...
And it's good!!!
Just hangin' out :):)
Ben spent most of the day pushing kids on the swings and they couldn't get enough of it!
All smiles :D
<3
:):)
At the end, we had a raffle for certain prizes based on the tickets that they won throughout the day.
Organized chaos ;)
